The discovery of a corpse poses a worrying puzzle for the Berlin police. The mysterious symbols scratched on the murder victim’s skin seem somehow familiar to Clara Vidalis. Are they ritual symbols? The autopsy brings more gruesome details to light, and it becomes clear that the modus operandi has been used before: Ten years earlier, a serial killer had spread terror in western US. He spent a whole summer committing his monstrous deeds before he took leave with the bloody message: “It’s not over, till it’s over.”
